Group Description
The act of Thieving is taking money from NPCs in order to obtain money or other resources that can aid you in your quest. It doesn’t have any negative effects other than potentially taking losses when you fail. It’s a requirement in many diaries, quests, and especially benefits Ironman as a direct way to gain early game gold.
For a lot of Old school RuneScape players one of the primary goals in the game to get to the maximum level (99) in as many different skills as you can. To this end players will seek out the easiest and most effective methods of achieving this goal regardless of how difficult they might appear. The same can certainly be said of stealing in OSRS since the best way to get from one to 99 as the thief is to follow a bizarre sequence of actions.
The benefits of stealing?
Thieving is a recurringly profitable skill. Thieving players at higher levels could earn more than 1 million per hour or more, depending on the method. Also it is an ideal way to earn money for Ironmen before they acquire the ability to raise alch. You also can get an abundant amount of herb seeds if you choose to thieve from master farmers, or get healing while fighting if you steal blood shards from vyrewatches, or gain unlimited teleports to the lands of the elves by stealing from Elves.
Turning off attack options
While you are stealing, you will encounter NPCs who aren’t attacked like master farmers. They are easy to take by clicking them. Additionally, there are NPCs who offer options to attack. You will have to right clickto pickpocket. This can be quite annoying. I would recommend disabling attack options in the options menu and changing the option to hide. This will permit you to instead left-click any NPC effortlessly, making stealing them much more comfortable.
Positioning npcs to a single square if possible.
It is possible to put certain NPCs in a fixed position in order to make them ineligible to move, thus trapping them. This can be beneficial as you’ll be able to save time by not having to run around and potentially miss your clicks. If an NPC cannot move, it will go into despawn and respawn in a flash in a state that makes them uninvolved. It is important to make sure your NPC shifts one tile per five minutes to make sure they don’t despawn. In order to help move the NPC to a place, you could decide to use a spear of dragons to force them into the position. Note this will only work for NPCs with the option of attacking. The most common NPCs that can be stuck include ardy knights, and master farmers.
The gear that is stolen as a bonus:
Ardougne diary bonus
The Ardy diary has bonuses at middle and difficult completions. Medium completion gives an additional 10% to successful pickpockets who have made it through Ardy. The hard bonus extends the 10% bonus to all locations. This is an excellent bonus before making the decision to commit a crime as it’s a 10% Exp increase and will help you save time on banking, as well as the use of less food.
Outfit of Rogues
A Rogues dress is a must. It can double the amount you get on all pickpockets. For instance, if you were taking a vyrewatch and stealing it and received a blood share, you will get two blood fragments. Since blood shards measure 7m, you’ve got 14m in a single pickpocket. The Rogues costume takes between one and three hours to make and is required to be level 50 in theft. It’s done by going to the rogues ‘ den beneath the bar in Burthorpe. You’ll have to move through a maze to get to the conclusion. The puzzle takes roughly five minutes to finish. The chance is getting one of five pieces in the set. The complete set is required to earn the bonus.
The silence of silence
They need a hunter with 54 hunters to wear. They increase the chances of stealing by 5percent. This does not stack with the Ardougne medium diary once it is in Ardougne the medium diary, and is then obsolete when you get the Ardougne hard diary is completed. You must make the gloves with two dark kebbit furs and 600 coins in the Fancy Dress shop in south Varrock. You will have to fix the gloves, which will require you to craft 64.
Dodgy necklace
They are made by enchanting an Opal necklace. They offer the chance of a 25% increase to ensure that you are not shocked and damaged if you fail to catch to pickpocket. The necklaces have 10 charges. A charge is consumed when it goes off. The necklaces are not to be used while blackjacking.
